Lets go straight to the pros and cons of TGR
Pros:
-It connects with BTTH and WDQK, which is amazing. It's like a superhero team up.
-There's no harem for those who hate it
-quite a few epic battle moments, face slaps, and reveals that are quite satisfying.
-It's got most of the elements you enjoy from BTTH and WDQK so if you enjoyed those, you'll likely appreciate this too.
-I highly recommend this series to any new readers (to have read less than 10 novels of this genre)
Cons:
-Author relies heavily on generic xianxia tropes, so experienced reader may get tired of some.
-Too much plot holes, you will notice them. Just a matter of how much it bothers you.
-Author made the mistake of introducing MC as a 'God of Slaughter' but his actions are closer to that of a pacifist. Keep your thirst of blood expectations down.
-Supporting characters do nothing, this is not like WDQK where MC's brothers keep up with him throughout the series. Every supporting character will get left in the dust, some sooner than others.
-Don't expect MC to rely on intelligence and strategy, he will brute force and plot armor through everything.
In conclusion:
I feel TGR is a little overrate. Coming from someone whose read 40-50 of these, if that matters at all. Did this series have awesome moments? Hell ya! But for every great moment, there's 2 dumb/poorly written filler ones.
I rate this series: 3 out of 5 Stars
