After reading far too many Chinese novels, some good but mainly bad. I ended up becoming a self-declared Daoist in the philosophical sense.
Daoism as a philosophy is very hard to describe to someone unfamiliar with it. From my understanding, Daoism is about personal perception of the Dao. To discuss the Dao directly and concretely is taboo — it misleads the recipient about its ineffable nature. Can a description of the feeling of wind on your skin ever hope to match the richness of the experience?
Moreover, this is in complete contrast western philosophy which is derived from direct applications of logic. A pre-conception of "philosophy" from the western perspective makes this even more difficult.
All of that is to say that this does a great job of providing an experiential perspective of "practicing" Daoism. If you want to do so yourself, I encourage you to go and immerse yourself in the world.
Also, the vibes seem pretty good :)
