Disclaimer: My review is based on reading the CN raw and uncensored version of both Ultragene Warlord (极限基因武神) and Super God Gene/Super Gene (超级神基因).
1) Ultragene Warlord (极限基因武神) is basically a plagiarized copy of the CN Novel Super God Gene/Super Gene (超级神基因).
2) And in turn, Super God Gene/Super Gene (超级神基因) is an untalented reskin of existing xuanhuan (high fantasy or fusion fantasy) cultivation novels. And yes, after numerous pages of textual spam of sci-fi jargon, the novel uturns back to the typical xianxia/xuanhuan cultivation terminologies and yes, the same old shameless, white-skinned-face MC that has paler and more transparent skin, and loses more muscle mass the higher his cultivation level goes. Also MC is a overaged man-child that collects more and more waifus and waifus-in-waiting as the story progresses.
3) For those readers praising Super God Gene/Super Gene (超级神基因), it must really be a case of "My 1st xianxia/xuanhuan cultivation novel, so it's great". Now do me a favor, and read 10 of these xuanhuan cultivation novels which have at least 3,000 to 10,000+ chapters and then come back and tell me it's divine enjoyment.
4) Because for all these xuanhuan cultivation novels, if they're not written by platinum grade authors (who show their real face in interviews), they're just written by lowly paid interns ghost-writing from a shared pseudonym author account spamming/recycling plagiarize templates from a CN novel writing software.
5) To the guy(s) below or above praising Super God Gene/Super Gene (超级神基因) storytelling and foreshadowing: it's simply a spam and delay tactic to overhype the plot, make it look mysteriously, hook the readers and hold them hostage to continue reading. Because eventually after >1000+ chapters, the plot reveal and resolution is disgustingly bland, contrite, cliche and disappointing.
6) Both novels don't really do much in explaining how the in-novel universe works (aka world building). These authors assume that the reader has a basic understanding of how xuanhuan cultivation novel goes. Then it's just chapters and chapters of textual Lit-RPG spam like combat-buff-debuff status text, A to B location changes, copy-paste-pasta of hunt more monsters for loot and exp and maybe the occasionally redacted waifu or waifu-in-waiting
p0rn
.
7) The real reason why both novels have confusing world building (doesn't help if you're reading the raw CN text version) is because the authors want to hoodwink the readers that it's a totally original work of literature and has nothing to do with fantasy worlds with real-world/dungeon interactions and it's totally not a case of "MC must grind loot/exp from dungeons" and "the dungeon entrance is a damn portal".
8) Ultragene Warlord (极限基因武神) is more focused on spamming the CN swear worlds to meet the minimum chapter word count, while Super God Gene/Super Gene (超级神基因) prefers filling the chapters with antics of
JP? male p0rn stars
of the bygone era.
