Afterword
Hello Wuxiaworld readers. This is Ro Yu Jin.
The scorching summer heat has passed, and the sky is slowly showing signs of changing into fall. To Hell with Being a Hero is the second work I’ve published in Wuxiaworld after The Second Coming of Gluttony. I’ve also experienced this while writing, but looking back, I have a lot of regrets about this work. I had so many ideas I wanted to show to the readers, but I feel very disappointed that I couldn’t successfully pull off what I had in mind.
I think I was too greedy, and this greediness hampered my work. As a result, out of all the novels I have written so far, this novel made me realize my weakness as a writer the most. Furthermore, this novel made me realize again that I still have a long way to go as a writer, and I have so much to learn.
I keep thinking thoughts like how I wish I could have worded some parts a bit better or worked a little harder to show better content. Although my regrets increase the more I reflect…
I want to use this experience as an opportunity to improve myself and grow.
I sincerely want to express my gratitude to the readers who read this novel despite all its faults. I pray that readers from all over the world will enjoy many relaxing and happy days. Then goodbye for now.
Thank you.
Ro Yu Jin
Hello,
This is Redbird. Sadly, To Hell with Being a Hero has come to an end. I hope everyone enjoyed reading this novel, and I was able to provide some joy to readers through my translation. This is the second novel I finished in WuxiaWorld after The Regressed Demon Lord is Kind, and I've enjoyed translating both. I think the two novels have their own unique charms and have different ideas and strengths to offer to the readers. I could feel that the author cared a lot about his work and his readers through his writing and author's note, so I hoped I properly conveyed that through my translation.
I want to thank Cosy again and my editor House for her phenomenal work and wonderful suggestions. It was a pleasure working with them both. And last but not least, I want to thank all the readers for sticking to the end or taking their time to check out this novel.
Also, please check out my next translated novel, The Maknae has to be an Idol, which is about a novelist who has to become a K-pop idol to save his group members. It's another enjoyable read. : )
