It is with great regret that I see no other option but to not recommend this work to you. I say this with great sorrow because I genuinely believe this novel had great potential, but all that potential is quickly replaced by yet another generic murim novel with reincarnation. The first arc is quite fun and raised my expectations. The protagonist acted in a way consistent with the mental age he should have. The descendants of the main family were good characters, with flaws and qualities. William, for example, is extremely arrogant and confident. He has everything to be a generic young master, but no, he is very competent and hardworking, as well as intelligent and able to recognize when he is weaker, and to use the frustration of defeat as fuel to train harder. The first arc built a solid foundation that could have given life to a fun and satisfying novel, but that's not what happened. The author preferred the easy way out, and arc after arc made a point of making the work as generic as possible, both in plot and tropes. For example, in the first few chapters, the protagonist states that he feels unable to hide his power, since as the sword emperor his pride would not allow it. Yet, not twenty chapters later, the protagonist is actively hiding his power. And the inconsistencies only accumulate over time. I simply cannot recommend this to you. I know that all of you here (or at least most) are veteran readers. Honestly, if I wanted to read something that doesn't even try a little to be memorable, why would I read this novel and not the thousands of others that have the same problem? Some of them undoubtedly have more popularity, better writing, and some even have manhwa adaptations. I know you're already jaded by wuxia/murim works without a hint of originality, and I don't want you to build up expectations only to suffer the bitter reality later. So for that reason, I cannot recommend this novel.
