The Sword Emperor's challenges result in three of the Ten Venerables to be criticially injured. Three of the Seven Absolutes also die.
“It wasn’t enough for you to come knocking at my door all alone; now you dare challenge me to a battle to the death? I did not think you to be so dull as to miscalculate others’ strength.”
”Neither the Ten Venerables nor the Yellow Lotus Temple’s Seven Absolutes of the orthodox sects had the ability to give me an answer. You are the only one left to ask."
Some may call the Sword Emperor old-fashioned, but he only seeks to be stronger as a martial artist.
His endeavor eventually leads him to challenge the Heavenly Demon, the generation's strongest man in murim. The challenge turns out to be the grand finale of his life.
However, the Sword Emperor later wakes up as a member of the Cardenas family, the continent's best swordsman family!

I've read every chapter that has come out so far, which is 38 at the time of writing, and I can say for now this is a great book to read. It is a recarnation type beginning with a lack of foolishness that is usually a part of the trope. The pacing seems good as well and in regards to the future of the novel, it currently has my recommendation and is a possible top 10 novel for the site. I will update my review in the future at chapter 100. Thanks for reading my review and thank you have the novel.

It is with great regret that I see no other option but to not recommend this work to you. I say this with great sorrow because I genuinely believe this novel had great potential, but all that potential is quickly replaced by yet another generic murim novel with reincarnation. The first arc is quite fun and raised my expectations. The protagonist acted in a way consistent with the mental age he should have. The descendants of the main family were good characters, with flaws and qualities. William, for example, is extremely arrogant and confident. He has everything to be a generic young master, but no, he is very competent and hardworking, as well as intelligent and able to recognize when he is weaker, and to use the frustration of defeat as fuel to train harder. The first arc built a solid foundation that could have given life to a fun and satisfying novel, but that's not what happened. The author preferred the easy way out, and arc after arc made a point of making the work as generic as possible, both in plot and tropes. For example, in the first few chapters, the protagonist states that he feels unable to hide his power, since as the sword emperor his pride would not allow it. Yet, not twenty chapters later, the protagonist is actively hiding his power. And the inconsistencies only accumulate over time. I simply cannot recommend this to you. I know that all of you here (or at least most) are veteran readers. Honestly, if I wanted to read something that doesn't even try a little to be memorable, why would I read this novel and not the thousands of others that have the same problem? Some of them undoubtedly have more popularity, better writing, and some even have manhwa adaptations. I know you're already jaded by wuxia/murim works without a hint of originality, and I don't want you to build up expectations only to suffer the bitter reality later. So for that reason, I cannot recommend this novel.

So I've been reading it daily ever since it came out, and I really like it so far, and it reminds me of Descended from Divinity if anyone has read that. I'm not a good reviewer but I want people to check out the story and get some traction because I think its a story almost everyone can enjoy. Though unsurprisingly it is a stereotypical transmigration of a master who gets a second chance to pursue the peak of martial arts in a different world, and that is something I enjoy the Main Character doesn't pursue revenge. He just strives to get stronger and seek perfection and transcend his limits.
