Lee Shin-Woo decided to call the Dark Flames the Fiery Sand's Dark Flame Ghosts wielded a 'fusion element'.

Though elements could exhibit extraordinary power depending on their wielders, the Dark Flames were well beyond that. It wasn't a simple fusion of the two elements—fire and darkness—with the properties of both, but a completely different element.

"Jeez, that was dangerous! We're done for if they get your skill, so be careful!"

"I know! Uaaaaah! They're coming again! Over there too!"

If Lee Shin-Woo was to describe the flames with one word, it would be 'plundering'. They devoured anything it touched, and what was devoured would then be given to the element's wielder.

How do darkness and fire combine to create something like that? Moreover, when someone gets hit by the undead curse, usually they simply become an undead; so how do these ones awaken the darkness element and fuse it with the fire element!?
