I was definitely unsure of what sort of novel I was getting from the description, so the first thing is to explain that.

This takes place in an alternate history type world, so no country names we are familiar with, and our MC is out on an artifact dig when they get betrayed. He discovers the ability to relive the past through artifacts with lingering regrets attached to them. By resolving the regrets he can learn the abilities and martial arts of those in the past and bring them into his own body, allowing him to grow stronger.

So we have modern-ish cultivation/martial arts (more martial arts right now at chapter 50) with martial arts being hidden from the general public. The MC has a cheat to be able to gain more knowledge of martial arts that may have been lost in history.

And how is it? I'm having a good time. There are some mysteries in the background (What are shadow demons for one...), the MC is decently ruthless, but not uncaring, and the focus on lingering regrets means that there is an emotional aspect to the story where they have to think about the feelings of the different characters and how to react to overcome those regrets.

Right now I would say 8/10. Definitely a strong beginning, and I am excited to see where it goes.

Interesting concept! This novel definitely feels fresh! Different that your typical reincarnation novels for sure! This novel is very enjoyable and has a lot of potential to get even better! It is definitely worth giving it a chance and I would recommend it! This novel offers a lot to explore! So far it doesn't tell a lot about the world he is in I would love a bit more of that but otherwise it's a great novel! I can't wait to see how things develop and where the novel take us! Hope everyone enjoys it as much as I am!

After reading 20 out of the current 60 chapters available at the time of writing this analysis, I decided it was a good moment to write an initial review, as the first arc is completed in chapter 20 and the story begins to transition into the next one. I must say that the quality of writing was one of the aspects that caught my attention. The writing has been fluid and consistent so far, but by no means perfect. There were one or two moments where I had to suspend my disbelief, and other times when the author clearly got tangled up and ended up conveying information in a somewhat confusing way, but nothing too serious. That said, I intend to keep reading, but I must admit that so far, this novel hasn't been anything special. Its concept is common and has been seen in several other works, the characters are neither bad nor good, and the protagonist is as mediocre as the rest.
