This story seems promising in the first 40 chapters or so, but then it kinda goes downhill. It's not that bad, but it's not satisfying to read anymore.
In most Chinese novels, there's a common problem of too much explanation, too many names for techniques, weapons and so on. However, it's the opposite for this one. I've already reached chapter 123 when I leave this review, and the MC is said to have regained quite a lot of her cultivation but maybe not that high? I seriously don't know because there's still barely any explanation about cultivation levels, techniques, or formations... I get that it focuses on romance, but cultivation exists in this wolrd. There should be more than just vague descriptions like her cultivation inscreased "little" or "significantly" enough to start doing something, or the MC gives out formidable formations without any names to differentiate them... Those are too general for readers to have any idea about exactly how strong a character is or how much they improve.
Another thing is inconsistency in the MC's personality. At fisrt she is said to be cold, arrogant and somewhat cruel. But as it goes on, besides her being rude and unafraid of authority, she is surprisingly friendly and talkative? Of course she's only like that to people she's close with but still, she seems to talk a lot for someone who's supposed to be cold and have trust issue. There are chapters just mostly filled with her giving explanation and lecturing.
