There was a fugitive locked up in a secluded monastery in Newfando.

As Erwin made his way down into the dark and dank underground prison, many rats were roused from their slumber and began to rush away in all directions. This underground prison was once used by the Holy World Church as a form of punishment for low-ranking clergymen who went against the church's rules, and at this point, it had already been abandoned for many years. After all, virtually everyone in the Holy World Church was infringing upon the church's rules, so there was no point in this form of punishment continuing to exist.

Erwin took a glance at the man who was laying inside. His hair was knotted and disheveled, and he was looking very frail and vulnerable. Erwin knocked on the metal door of the cell with his horsewhip, snapping the man out of his reverie.

A dejected look appeared on Chahan's face at the sight of Erwin.

"I don't think you have the guts to rebel against me of your own volition," Erwin said with a calm expression, seemingly completely unfazed by Chahan's betrayal. "Did that baroness that you've always been romantically involved with put you up to this?"

"No, she didn't! I swear!" Chahan hurriedly denied as a panicked look appeared in his eyes. "This was all my idea, it has nothing to do with anyone else!"

Erwin shook his head with a faint sigh, then sat down onto a dilapidated chair. He cast his gaze toward Chahan, who was kneeling before him, and he said with a perplexed...
