It was embarrassing to admit this out loud, but I considered myself a genius when it came to fighting. Simply put, I never fell for the same attack again.

No matter how accomplished a martial artist was, there would be a limit to the techniques he used. Everyone had a set pattern to their movements. Once I saw and experienced them, it wasn’t too difficult to comprehend, anticipate, and counterattack. Apparently, other people did not have that ability. Even my father looked surprised when I told him about it.

Similar to how smart students could solve application problems after one example, I was the same with fighting. After a single experience, I could understand and craft a counterattack, no matter how the technique was utilized. My body remembered it.

Unless I was too slow to dodge the enemy’s attack even after reading its trajectory, I could deal with it easily. This was the same for Floor Master battles. The bosses’ skills had a pattern to them that was much clearer than human movements. It’d mean I was off my game if I got hit by their skills a second time.

That said, it wasn’t always possible to dodge. Floor Masters’ skills were all difficult, if not impossible, to avoid.

[Die!]

“Dragon Skin!” I shouted at the top of my voice.

I then shot my Elemental Blade at the boss while ignoring the black hands that shot up from the ground. Before he was hit, the Grim Reaper teleported behind me. Obviously, I had predicted all of this.

I grinned. “Throw!”

[Argh!]

I grabbed him and threw him to the ground as if I had been waiting for him to appear...
