Chapter 16. Perfect Shot (1)

According to Acorn Jelly, a perfect shot needed to land at the center of a vital spot.

The head made for the biggest and easiest vital to aim for. Also, any creature would die if one split its skull. Sang-Hyeon had no reason to not aim for the head.

However…

‘That mask…’

The mask bothered Sang-Hyeon. The champion goblin wore a strange one made of steel. Sang-Hyeon instinctively knew that he couldn’t pierce this mask.

Thwack!

He aimed for a slightly exposed part of the forehead that the mask didn’t cover. It wouldn’t be easy, but Sang-Hyeon had to land the arrow at an arched angle.

He succeeded like usual and the arrow pierced into the center of the goblin's forehead.

— Holy shit!!

— That’s crazy.

— Is he a one man fortress? Jesus.

— Wow.

— Will it die?

The viewers thought he shot at nothing, but soon expressed their awe.

The champion goblin began to wobble.

“Kugh… Eek…”

Splatter!

A fountain of green blood spewed into the sky and the champion goblin tilted in one direction.

Sang-Hyeon lowered his bow and calmly watched. The controversy wouldn’t end if he shot more arrows.

“Keeek! Kugh!”

“Keek?!”

The other goblins noticed their boss’ condition and panicked. The viewers reacted the same.

— ???

— !?

— Is it really dying?

The chat momentarily froze as roughly 50,000 viewers watched in anticipation.

THUD!

The champion goblin collapsed to the ground and the viewers couldn’t hold it in anymore.

“WOAH!!!”

Acorn Jelly let out a deafening scream first.

— Wowowowow.

— That’s crazy!!

— Acorn Jelly’s wish came true!!!

— It really existed?!

— Holy shit, he really did it on his first try.

— He got the forehead! That’s insane.

— Congrats!!

— Woahhhhh.

— That’s actually crazy.

— Jesus Christ.

The chat continued like that.

[Chidori has donated 10,000 won.]

[You’re amazing!]

[RubySword has donated 200,000 won.]

[Tell Almond… that I lost…]

[Goose has donated 3,000 won.]

[Goose…]

[Bumps has donated 10,000 won.]

[Bumps…]

[Domino has donated 5,000 won.]

[Woah! Congratulations!]

[Perfectshot Believers has donated 100,000 won.]

[Perfect Shot! Dreams do come true!]

The endless donations crashed their game and almost froze the stream.

“Phew.”

Sang-Hyeon got out of the capsule.

‘I guess new capsules don’t have a great cooling system either.’

He walked out soaked in sweat.

Acorn Jelly also came out of his capsule. It looked like he didn’t even shed a drop of sweat. He spread his arms out and shouted.

“What do you think, Na-Yeon? Look! We proved it! Gyahaha!

“Wow, amazing.”

Na-Yeon gave a superficial response to Do Jae-Muk and rushed to Sang-Hyeon with a towel.

“It… it was truly incredible!”

After saying that, she went back to scolding Do Jae-Muk.

“You know the stream glitched out because of the chat and donations, right?”

“Yeah, I saw! Well, this is the first time the chat and donations ever froze. Hahaha!

Do Jae-Muk overflowed with excitement.

Then Kim Ju-Hyeok quickly shouted at them.

“We’re still receiving donations. The screen turned off, but the stream is still going. We can get more donations if we move in front of the camera and start the interview. What do you think?”

He said a lot at once, but made it easy to understand.

Ah, let’s do that.”

Do Jae-Muk nodded at the proposition. Streamers usually didn’t receive this many donations, so they should take advantage of it.

Furthermore, they had to share half of the donation earnings. He should earn twice as much as usual to make up for it.

“It’s ready!”

Na-Yeon adjusted the camera angle while Sang-Hyeon dried himself with the towel.

“Let me dry my hair first. Give me a moment…”

“I think you should just come out like that.”

“You think it’ll be alright?”

“Yes… even that looks cool…”

Na-Yeon turned away after saying that and switched the camera on.

Soon, their screen displaying the stream turned back on.

“Hi, Treevy! Welcome, I’m Acorn Jelly, who’s just been proven innocent.”

Acorn Jelly looked at Sang-Hyeon and signaled him to introduce himself.

“Hi, Treevy. I didn’t know, but a perfect shot did exist.”

The chat came back after Sang-Hyeon’s introduction. The messages went off like a rocket ship.

— Shiet!

— LOL

— Oh, it’s back on.

— I can’t believe the stream turned off because of the donations LOL

— God Archer.

— Robin Hood reincarnated.

— Even the NPCs said Robin Hood came back to life LOL

— Acorn Jelly can finally sleep in peace.

The stream enabled its fan-only chat feature, but viewers still bombarded the chat. Donations kept coming in as well.

[Doran has donated 100,000 won.]

[Seo In-Ha has donated 5,000 won.]

[Marinated Crab has donated 1,000 won.]

Woah, Woah. Calm down, everyone. I can’t read all the donations, but thank you?”

Acorn Jelly insisted on stopping the donations, but he knew that would only increase them as a veteran streamer. Telling them to stop only fueled them.

— Let’s punish him with more donations!

— Beat him with money!

— Open your mouth. Here comes the money!

— LOL

— Jelly boy, you better give all the donations to Almond.

— You’re not gonna split this in half, are you?

The chat kept the excitement going and encouraged the donations too.

“Thank you so much Juwon, WishcomeTrue, Marinated Crab…”

Acorn Jelly read the donation messages for almost forty minutes. His throat probably hurt, but his face looked brighter than ever. Sang-Hyeon's face lit up too since he would earn half of that amount.

‘Woah… how much is that?’

He couldn’t even imagine such donations on his stream. He shook in excitement when he thought of his stream achieving that one day.

“Oh, oh?! SeoJiAh donated one million won!”

Out of all the donations, someone donated one million won. A big spender had appeared.

‘One million won?’

‘Holy shit. One million won in one day…’

Sang-Hyeon and Ju-Hyeok looked baffled as they recalled fighting with their manager during their corporate days.

“Wow, SeoJiAh. It’s my first time seeing your name, but thank you so much. Ah… you want me to tell Sang-Hyeon he’s good-looking? Ah…

Acorn Jelly made an embarrassed look.

— LOL

— In the end, the donation was for Almond.

— Haha, give this one to Almond at least.

— You gotta admit Almond is attractive as hell.

— LMAO

— Oppa I love you! You look so sexy with your wet hair!

— Kya Oppa!

— Almond Oppa, can you say my name once?

— Were there this many girl fans?

— This is hilarious.

SeoJiAh continued with her donations.

“SeoJiAh again! Thank you for the 100,000 won donation. You want me to tell Sang-Hyeon he’s good-looking… This is the same message as before! Do you just have money lying around?!”

— LOL

— Acorn Jelly getting jealous haha.

— Looks are everything!

— Actually though.

— He was handsome before and handsome now! What can you do?

— Haha true!

The chat kept mocking Acorn Jelly. He thought it would be a good moment to switch to the interview now.

“Alright, alright. Everyone stop! I’m going to do the interview!”

Acorn Jelly glanced at his private monitor. It had a list of questions ranked from most to least voted.

“The questions are from my forum where users voted for the best ones. Alright, this is the first interview question. Where do you get your skincare done…?”

“Oh, I don’t…”

“T-They’re also asking what tint you use…”

“I don’t put on any tint.”

“He says he doesn’t! Stop asking these things! Delete the question asking what color his underwear is too! How are these ranked first and second!”

The viewers enjoyed Acorn Jelly’s reactions.

— LOL

— Hahahaha

— Were there this many girl fans on the Acorn squad?

— They were all hiding when Jelly boy was streaming. Now they came out of hiding for Almond lmao.

— Damn… I’m jealous…

— So popular…

— The life of a popular boy.avi

— Shit, now I’ll get mad when I see my reflection after this.

— LOOOL

Most questions wanted to know about Sang-Hyeon’s personal life. Whether he had a girlfriend, his height, routines, etc.

He felt surprised at first, but receiving so much love and attention felt good. Sang-Hyeon’s heart pounded.

‘I guess this is the fun part about streaming.’

He thought gaming and streaming just might be right for him…

***

Almond and Acorn Jelly played a bit more before finishing the stream.

“Phew.”

Sang-Hyeon sat in front of the table covered in sweat again.

“Here you go.”

Na-Yeon handed him a towel as if she waited on standby.

“Thank you.”

“Do you sweat this much every time? This capsule has a cooling system too…”

Ah… I’m sweating less than at my house though.”

“Hey, oppa. Isn’t there something wrong with this?”

“Hey, why don’t you worry about me like that? It’s because his concentration level is higher than normal.”

Acorn Jelly sat next to Sang-Hyeon while complaining to Na-Yeon.

“You did really good today. This was the first time my stream blew up this much.”

“Me… me too! I think you’ll become bigger than Jae-Muk oppa for sure!”

Acorn Jelly glared at Na-Yeon, but it was all in good spirits after their successful stream.

“I should be thanking you for inviting us.”

Ju-Hyeok sat beside them with an awkward smile and pulled out two gift boxes from his backpack.

“I didn’t have a chance to give you this before the stream, but here you go. It’s just a thank you for inviting us.”

Woah… You didn’t have to.”

“Thank you so much!”

Acorn Jelly and Na-Yeon's eyes sparkled. It was just a set of cookies, but the high-quality packaging made them feel great.

‘He sure is resourceful.’

Ju-Hyeok took care of things that Sang-Hyeon didn’t even think about.

“This looks delicious. Let’s have it with some tea.”

“That would be delightful.”

“I’ll get it ready.”

Na-Yeon brought the cookies to the kitchen while Acorn Jelly grabbed his tablet.

“Let’s have fun while Na-Yeon is getting that ready. Time to calculate our donations!”

He pulled up today’s donations on the tablet screen.

“!”

Sang-Hyeon and Ju-Hyeok’s jaws dropped when they saw the amount.
