I did enjoy the story at first, but to be honest, it got me bored after 300th chapter. The book is really light-hearted and highly shounen-like, I'd recommend that for really young readers. Our MC is so naive and dumb, it starts to hurt after about ~150 chapters, it was nice and fun in the first chapters, but MC, and my most hated one called Stingham are really unbearable for me. There is no actual character growth in the series up to the chapter 380, where I dropped it. Destroyer of ice and fire has many similarities with fairy tail - if you liked that anime/manga, you'll probably like this series as well.

To sum it up, if you like light-hearted stories with naive MCs, ultimate plot armor and no real character growth - give it a shot, otherwise you'll just feel your gray cells burning with every single chapter.

PS. I gave up on reading Stingham's statements in ~100th chapter, too annoying for me.

The novel is very light hearted and comedic. For a change M.C acts his age and his circumstances. He is very straightforward and talks without worries and it looks like he doesn't think. Bit this is because he grew up in a remote village along with caring old people and is not aware of sophistications of city life and rivalries. But this does not make him an idiot. He is cleaver in his tactics during battles. And his reasonings and logics though sounds stupid, is actually the most straightforward method to accomplish something. So this one is a good change to have, when you want to have a light hearted read away from all schemings and murdering tropes.

I’ve just started (110+ chapters read) but, damned, I’m addicted already.

DIF may seem like your usual wuxia novel, but look again : if you like a hero that has endless will to train / an infinite thirst for knowledge like I do, if more girls/women protagonists (that do make a difference other than by being freaks or beautiful/flowers to be plunked). If you like MCs that cooperate together & are more laughable than scary, welcome to a new adventure / wuxia novel.

Well, DIF is written for you for many more good reasons but I don’t want to spoil it jump in !

The ever positive energy of Airyn is countagious ! Beware ;).
