This novel is one of my Favourites! It's written by the same author of "Ascension through Skills" (another novel I like) that has a manhwa by a slightly different name "Levelling up through Skills".
To sum the novel up its basically an Isekai story but nothing like the typical garbage you usually get- Ketal the MC exploring his long-awaited dream the Fantasy World after many long years trapped within the White Snowfield filled with abominable creatures that defy order and nature.
Ketal himself has a funny personality; when he encounters anything from the fantasy world he is overwhelmed with a childlike sense of wonder and curiosity towards it, to the point of obsession. He's pretty willing to do anything and derives entertainment from it, even the simple task of planting potatoes, stirring a cauldron for hours by hand or collecting herbs in a forest are interesting because to him these are the legendary tasks that mercenaries/adventurers did in the many fantasy novels and comics he read while on Earth.
He treats everything and everyone the same with a smile and goodwill, even towards demons that desire to destroy the world, those that attack him, show malice towards him or consider him "enemies" he treats the same as he would a friend or stranger because in his eyes, they are all miraculous creations of his dream the fantasy world he so desperately wished to be a part of for many uncountable years.
Though if something were to try to disturb Ketal and block his enjoyment of his long-awaited dream, or he encounters something that shouldn't ever belong to fantasy like certain abominable creatures from the nightmarish White Snowfield... that's when the smiling explorer of the fantasy world Ketal disappears, and the Ashen Barbarian of the White Snowfield Ketal comes out.
Its largely a humorous story of Ketal learning and exploring his dream the fantasy world with awe and curiosity while the other characters he meets react to him with bewilderment and fear because this Barbarian behaves completely different to what's typically expected of a Barbarian but also because he defies all logic they know, displaying feats even they find impossible.
